Product Details

How to Add Products?

To add a new product, click on the ‘Add’ button (top right corner). Fill in the details and click on Save & Continue button.

Product Details

Contains the basic information about the product.

  • Product Name: This is the name of the product, as you want your customer to see it.
  • Product Internal Title: An internal title of the product, which is displayed on the product-listing page only at the Admin Side. This helps Admin differentiate similar products.
    For example – A business card can be a product for a default store, it can also be a product for a specific store. Here an internal title can help Admin differentiate the two instances of the same product.
  • URL: A unique URL to identify your product over the web. It is recommended to keep the URL SEO friendly, as it keeps your website and product higher in browser search results. At the product listing screen, you can search for a product using the URL defined
  • If left blank then, the system will auto-generate the URL based on your product name.
  • Search Keywords: Add search keywords (only text) using which you will be able to run an easy product search in the search bar.
  • Default Category: This is a category of the product that Admin can use to manage Products. A product can have only one Default Category.
    On the front-end side, a category helps a customer to navigate more efficiently on the store and find the desired product easily.
    It will help you organize your product well and allow users to find the product easily.
    You can use from any pre-defined categories or create a new category.
  • Associated Category: Add one or more associated category for the product.(optional)
    For example, an ‘X’ product can have a Default Category as ‘Stationary’ and during Sale days the ‘X’ product can have associated categories as ‘Daily Deals’ or ‘Offers & Discount’, etc.
  • Price Defining Method: Define the pricing method i.e. the price you are charging for the product.

    Product Define Pricing method cannot be edited once saved for Size based Price (Dynamic Size).

    • Fixed Quantity and Price: Allows you to define fix price for a fixed quantity of product e.g. for 100 Quantity the price is $10.
    • Range based with multiplication: In this different quantity, ranges are available with different prices. Total Price = Quantity * Price. E.g. for 10 quantity consider a range of 1-200 where price per quantity is $20 so total price of 10 quantity can be calculated as = 10 * 20 = $200.
    • Range based without multiplication: In this, different quantity ranges are available at different prices. e.g. for 10 quantity consider a range of 1-200 where the price defined for this range is $20 so the total price of the 10 quantities is $20.
    • Size based Price (Dynamic Size): Customer will get an option to enter custom width & height at the front side. The system will calculate pricing based on area i.e. price = height * width.

  • Sheet Calculation: Enable this option if the price of your product is to be calculated based on a sheet used for printing. Learn more about sheets from here. This will calculate the printing cost per printed page.
  • Product SKU (Stock Keeping Unit): This is a unique code, which identifies the product within your business. This code helps Admin for effective order tracking and sales reporting, thus it is mandatory to keep each SKU unique. Admin can create its own SKU format for each additional option of the product.
  • Linear Calculation – This will be available only for the pricing method - Range Based with Multiplication. This will allow you to charge customers the same price for each unit. It will help maintain the marginal profit for each unit regardless of the units sold in order. The product price for each quantity within a range varies, the price for each quantity will increase in arithmetic progression.
  • Example: Suppose Customer orders 1200 quantity of business card –

    Now normal price calculation.

    Increase quantity will be decrease price

    Quantity = 1000, 1000 * 0.5 = 500

    Quantity = 1200, 1200 * 0.4 = 480 (Price decrease even quantity higher side)

    Linear price calculation

    y = y0 + (x-x0) ({y1 - y0} / {x1-x0})

    Calculation for Quantity - 1000

    Linear Price = 0.5 + (1200-1000) ((0.4-0.5) / (5000-1000))

    Total Price = 1200 * 0.495 = 594

    Thus, price is maintained in the linear form concerning an increase in quantity.

    • Price calculation will be done by the given formula to maintain price based on entered quantity.
    • This will be applied to all types of products with Price Defining Method - Range based on Multiplication.
    • Price calculation would apply to the product and its additional option base price and vendor price.

Product Configuration

  • Product Design Type – Choose the design type of a particular type.
    The design options offered by the system are-
    • Browse Design – The customer can select ready templates uploaded by Admin and later customize the template in Designer Studio.
    • Upload Centre – This enables the customers to upload their own design.
    • Custom Design – This allows customers to create their design in the Designer Studio.
    • Quote Product – This option allows the customer to first get the quote of the product and quantity and later place the order.
    • Hire Designer – If the customers do not have their design, nor they want to browse design from existing templates or create a new design then they can hire a designer with this option. Keep this option open if you have a dedicated designer to help your customers to design their product.
  • Select different options for product design. Change the order by drag and drop after clicking on the arrow.

  • User Type – Select the user type for whom you want to enable the product. It can be either a Default Store (a regular customer) or a store user.
    If you have added stores then the system has a provision to select a specific store for the particular product. You can also assign the standard products department-wise. The ‘Select Department’ button will open a pop-up with all the stores and departments listed along with a checkbox.

    You can select any department of the listed store, search for any store, and even assign the product to the whole store.

  • Type of the Color palette – Select the type of color palette you want to offer your customers in the Designer Studio.
    Select the color palette according to your printer configuration.
    For example, if your product supports RGB format then select the RGB option from the dropdown.
    In addition to the default color palettes – RGB, RGB 2017, CMYK, CMYK 2017, you can also add other color palette type from here. Out of all pre-defined color palettes, the recommended color palette is CMYK.
  • Advanced Color Palette – Enable the option to offer an advanced color palette to your customers in the Designer Studio.

  • Stock Management – Get instant access to the quantity and stock of your product with the Stock Management Option.
    Manage stock based on size or with product combination wise i.e. size with each additional option.
    Some products where you can manage stock are Mugs, Caps, T-shirts, CDs, etc.
  • Allow Free Shipping – Enable the option to allow free shipping to the selected product.
    If the product has free shipping, then product-shipping charges are never applicable, be the order from any part of the world.
  • Promotional Product – Enable the option if this is a promotional product. Know more about promotional product from here.
  • Production Days – Define the production days for your product. These days are added while calculating the Estimated Delivery Date of an order.
    If this is kept empty then “Common Production Days” are considered from Storage Configuration Settings.
  • Product Cut-off time- You can define a cut-off time for the product. If the product’s order is placed after the cut-off time, then it will be considered as the next day’s order. If set as default, then the cut-off time set in site settings will be referred.

Product Description

  • Small Image – These images are displayed at the home page and product listing pages.
  • Large Image – These images are displayed on the product page.
  • Short Description – This is a short description for the home page and product-listing page.
  • Long Description – This description is displayed on the product page.
  • Long Description2 - This will also be displayed on the product info page. To add this block on for the product info screen go to, Admin >> Store Personalization >> Product Page Layout >> Click +Add to add a layout >> Under Select Block dropdown add – Product Description 2
  • Upload Centre Description – This description is displayed at the upload center where the user can upload their designs directly.
  • Browse Design Description – This description is displayed the Browse description page where the user will see the pre-defined template.

Product Page Metatags

Metatags

Enter SEO-friendly content such as Page Title, Keywords and Description. These Tags and titles will help your product page rank higher in Search Engine Results.

It is advisable from OnPrintShop to contact an SEO expert and take advice on the same.

If you have multiple languages enabled, then enter the translated content for each page.

  • Product Sections: Select the product section to add the Metatag.
  • Page Title: Define the Page Title for your product. This title is displayed when a customer hovers on the Title bar
  • Meta Keywords: Enter the Meta Keywords for the Search Engine Rankings of your page. These are commonly used phrases by customers to search the search engines. In short, these are searchable keywords that you can associate with your product.
  • Meta Description: This is the Meta Description briefly describing the Page and its content. This description severely affects the Search Engine rankings of your product.
  • Ref. for Canonical: Provide a reference of Canonical in case any similar product exists with a similar URL. Know more from the ‘?’ icon on Admin Panel. This will save you from the duplicity of the content.
  • Additional Schema Mark-up: Schema markup is a structured data vocabulary that helps search engines better understand the info on your website to serve rich results. Here, using the help provided add schema for various pages.

Mask Image & Gallery

Mask Image

It is advisable to upload a Mask image of the Die-cut products. These files differentiate the printable as well as the non-printable area of the product. Also, these images give the exact position to design and help the customer to create a better design.

When a customer chooses to personalize such a product using Custom Design Option then the Designer studio will show the Mask image instead of a blank canvas. Thus, your customer can easily design the printable area, keeping in mind the non-printable area.

Note: Upload .GIF, .PNG or .PDF file only. Upload Images of same file type for both Portrait and Landscape orientation.

To add Mask Button click on ‘Add’ Button

  • Product Size: Select the Product Size.
  • Page Name: Select the Page Name.
  • Upload files: Upload the Mask Image files. You can upload a separate mask image for print ready files or directly upload print-ready files.
  • SVG Path: As an alternative, you can directly enter the SVG path for Product Mask Image.

Image Gallery

Upload multiple images of this product. These images are displayed on your storefront’s products page. More product images help the customer in understanding better the product’s look and feel.

We recommend you to name the image files as Product Name sequence number. This title is not displayed at the front end but the sequenced name will help you in managing them.
  • Add Product Gallery Image: Add a title, Select the language if your site is multilingual, select the sort order and upload the image file.

Image Gallery Binded With Additional Options Attribute

If a product has multiple options and you wish to bind each additional option attribute with a product image. This means when a customer selects a specific additional option attribute then the product image bind with the option will be displayed.

Taking the ref of the below image – when a customer clicks on various color blocks (which is an Additional Option named ‘Color’), the t-shirt of the selected color will be displayed.

To bind the images with additional options follow the below setps -

  • The Option Dropdown will display all the Additional Options added for the product with the input type ‘Dropdown and Radio Button’.
  • Depending on the option selected from the dropdown, you will be allowed to update the image gallery and bind the images. The option dropdown will enlist all the Additional Option attribute selected from the Gallery Settings.

Image Gallery Binded With Additional Options

You can bind the product images with the Additional Options instead of the Attributes. Through this, you can showcase all the attributes of an additional option in a single image to your customers. You can configure different images for each additional option.

E.g. 1 – The below example shows that an image is bound with the Printing Side additional option. And when a customer clicks on the Printing Side option they get to see the respective image being shown in the image gallery area.

E.g. 2 – Similarly in the below example, an image is bound with the Additional Option - Corner. Thus, on the selection of Corner Additional Option, the image associated with it shows upon.

To bind the images with additional options follow the below setps -

  • To achieve the above gallery type, choose Option-wise.
  • This will help you in personalizing the image galley, showcase your additional option features via image, thus making the overall interaction of the customer with the product more interactive.
  • The Select Option dropdown (in step 3 as shown in image), will list all the additional options of the product. At a time you can select any one additional option and upload the image.

  • If an image is added for ‘All Language’ then one cannot add another image in a different language.
  • But, if an image is uploaded for a specific language than the system will not allow uploading any image for All Languages, but allows to upload images for another language(s).
  • The system will also display Additional Option Name in an image gallery block.

How are Help Templates useful?

Help Template

Adding Help templates become helpful for customers at the front side.

The templates are available on the product info and product upload center page.

These sample templates help customers create proper format, assign proper margin to a page, and take care of additional design options.

  • Add – Add help templates from the ‘+Add’ button.
    • Product Size: Select the product size for which you want to upload the template.
    • Template Type: There are various file types allowed for Product Template such as .PDF file, .DOC file .AI file etc.

    • Template Title: Give a suitable template title that you want the customers to see.
    • Note: If you want to show product size then use %s in template title.
    • Duplicate Product: Assign the Help Template to any other duplicate product (if any). This will save you from again uploading the template for multiple products.
    • Upload File: Upload .PSD, .AI, .EPS, .PDF, .CDR, .PUB, .INDD files based on the selected template type.
    • Note: Your system comes pre-built with sample Help Template files. You can either modify them or upload a completely new one.
